It is best to apply the stripper on liberally and cover it for about 24 hours. Paint should start to come off as you scrap and brush it away. It took us 3 coats to get the paint off and there are still some in the crevices of the brick but it is not too noticeable. It recommended to keep a spray bottle nearby and apply water as you are removing the paint.

Another approach is a wire brush attachment for a power tool that helps speed up the process.
